What will you be doing?
You would be a part of a small group of volunteers creating educational course content. This will cover Gender identity, patriarchy, hygiene, abuse etc. We are looking for a few volunteers so you can work independently or share ideas and come up with innovative course content and visuals that will hold the interest of the focus age group. Ideally, we would like it developed on storyline, but are open to suggestions.

We have a manual created by ICRW for an experimental project run in Mumbai schools. This is for an instructor-led training. We would like this content converted into small bitesize pieces, fit for an audience of 12 to 16 year olds. We envisage these to go out to schools and communities.

We would also be looking for the candidate to have some knowldge on LMS platdorms and make suggestions on what would be best for us.

A candidate who can identify with the subject we are covering would be essential as they can then independently take decisions on the content.

What are we looking for?
You will be an experienced course content creator or editor with an awareness and passion to work on gender issues and abuse. Someone who can suggest more content and work on quiz and interactive videos to add to the course.

What difference will you make?
By creating content for our courses, you will be: raising awareness, increasing gender sesitivity, educating teen on sexual hygiene, teaching them not to be silent bystanders in face of abuse.

You will be helping a very new 6 month old charity bring their vision of improving safety of women and children (and if we add content on class and caste equaity, safety of marginalised communities).

What's in it for the volunteer?
As our target audience is in India initially with a massive number of children in that age group, you content will potentially be used by thousands of children with a further potential to change or at least make these children aware of these issues and make them think about them instead of brushing them under the carpet.

Mission Statement

A charity working on safety of women, children and vulnerable, marginalised communities on issues related to gender, caste and sexuality.

Description

We are a very new charity ( 6 months old) registered in UK. We have achieved a lot in the last 6 months and have the passion to bring about a change. We have so many plans and project ideas but as a volunteer led organisation, find it difficult to get core funding but have donations coming in for project based funding. This makes the reliance on volunteers so much more critical. We have in these last 6 months supported 9 covid orphans with education, food and accommodation, medial insurance (for 2 children), provided mid-day meals for 60 children in a village with marginalised communities, skills trained 35 women to be financially independent, brought a smile on the faces on women and children a homes for the abused by sending them new occasionwear clothes donated by a boutique, send 150 kgs of clothes to children in villages with extreme poverty, Started a project to build a safehouse in Kenya for FGM affected girls. We have many more projects in the pipeline.
