Recruiting Organization: Northshore Senior Center

Purpose/Objective: To receive job requests and provide placement assistance and information for Clients and Service Providers.

Location: Bothell, Northshore Senior Center, Conference Room 105

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide information as requested by Clients and Service Providers
  2. Process information and placement and document on computer
  3. Evaluation and interviewing of applicants
  4. Able to work independently
  5. Good oral, professional telephone manner
  6. Be familiar with Northshore Senior Center facts, programs, services and resources
  7. Maintain an organized, clean work area
  8. Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned
  9. Update database with results of job match-ups
  10. Report any problems or concerns to the Volunteer Leader or Staff Leader.
  11. As a volunteer, if you are unable to fulfill a scheduled time, you are responsible for contacting another receptionist volunteer to fill your shift.
  12. Report monthly volunteer hours


  1. Must be welcoming and possess a positive personality, as well as a professional telephone manner.
  2. Must be able to follow detailed instructions and complete assignments as given, with strong organizational and communication skills.
  3. Must be able to multi-task and job-share.
  4. Must possess basic computer skills and keep all information confidential.
  5. Must complete a volunteer application, sign a volunteer agreement and authorize a background check. All of these items will be completed prior to starting.

Time Commitment: This position requires a minimum of one 3-hour shift per week (9AM-12:00PM) and one monthly Employment volunteer group meeting. There will also be a training period associated with this position (see below).

Training/Support Provided: Individual, one-on-one training will be provided as needed and agreed to. Training will be provided by the Volunteer Leader or other experienced volunteer, as assigned.
