Low Entropy is a registered charity with a mission to elevate humanity through the power of compassionate, authentic communities. Our programs foster transformational impact by empowering adults, youth, and children through personal growth and meaningful interpersonal connections. 2020 was a busy year for us; we supported 400 youth and children through our online Youth Empowering Youth program, 2,305 adults through our Conscious Connections sessions, and 585 individuals through our C.A.R.E. project (food hampers & one on one support), while managing through the complexities of the pandemic.

To maintain our growth and continue supporting adults, youth & children, we are looking for volunteers to help our fundraising team.

Responsibilities: Create a program-specific fundraising plan for the assigned program with support from the partnerships manager

• Liaison between fundraising team and program lead
• Obtain program-specific budget and goals
• Communicate program-specific fundraising needs to partnerships manager
• Coordinate volunteers to support program-specific fundraising efforts
• Participate in general fundraising activities

In this role, you will use your expert communication skills and keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, an d manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers, you will hone your speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving [Organization X] closer to its financial goals.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, and organized, with a knack for research. We are looking for someone who believes in [Organization X’s] mission and will demonstrate exceptional drive to further our existing fundraising efforts and help strategize and deliver new ones.

Objective of this Role

• Cultivate a network of dedicated donors and volunteers
• Spot new fundraising opportunities
• Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals
• Form strong relationships with external stakeholders
• Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop
• Promote awareness of the organization's mission and work.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities Skills and Qualifications

• Research individuals, corporations, and foundations that may be interested in gift-giving
• Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors
• Craft grant applications and fundraising proposals
• Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns
• Organize fundraising events while overseeing teams of volunteers
• Manage a budget and track whether goals are being met

• A minimum of three years’ fundraising, sales, or marketing experience
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to lead and motivate colleagues and volunteers
• Strong attention to detail
• A passion for research
• Adept at managing tasks, planning events, and balancing priorities

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, public relations, or a related field
• Certificate in Fundraising, Diploma in Fundraising, or similar qualification
• Competence in Microsoft Office suite and donor management systems
• Experience writing grant proposals, press releases, and/or fundraising letters
• Confidence with public speaking
• Legal or accounting experience a plus
