Project Overview

Join Sutro Stewards in their mission to improve the local biodiversity and ecosystem. Sutro Native Plant Nursery conserves unique plant species for habitat restoration on Mount Sutro, one of San Francisco’s wildest and most beautiful green spaces.

Volunteers will assist with removing invasive species, planting native plants, and much more!

About Sutro Stewards

Sutro Stewards’ mission is to build community, connect people with nature, and protect and enhance Mount Sutro. Currently, the nursery grows over 180 different species, and houses over 4,000 plants in total.

• Project Requirements & Important Notes
  Volunteers should wear clothes they are comfortable getting dirty.
• Bring a mask, hat, water bottle, and gardening gloves (if preferred)
• Volunteers are required to wear a mask that covers both their nose and mouth for the entire duration of the volunteer time.
• Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time.
