The Roanoke Valley SPCA wants to be a community resource for everyone in the region, including our neighbors who might speak English as a second language or not at all. We are actively recruiting bilingual volunteers who can help us reach this goal! At this time, we are specifically looking for English/Spanish volunteers, but we are open to discussing other languages as well.

Volunteer opportunities include:
* Translating English documents into Spanish (such as the RVSPCA adoption application, pet food pantry application, and resources for adopters)
* Contacting Spanish speaking applicants to help schedule a meet with an animal that fits their needs and interest
* Attending and translating at meet and greets with Spanish-speaking adopters

Mission Statement

We’re working to create a community where there are no homeless cats or dogs through the power of adoption, prevention and intervention.

Description

The Roanoke Valley Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ("RVSPCA") limited intake, adoption and education center. We provide a safe and loving home for animals for as long as they need it. Only those animals suffering from conditions that are beyond help are ever euthanized.

The RVSPCA's is working to create a community where there are no homeless cats or dogs through the power of adoption, prevention and intervention.

ADOPTION
We work to bring animals and people together.

PREVENTION
We maintain that spaying, neutering and humane education are the solutions to homeless animals.

INTERVENTION
We provide services that address financial hardships, medical problems and behavioral challenges to enable animals to stay in their homes or be adopted.
