Mission Statement

Description

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with close to 1.4 million members across 50,000 local clubs in 217 countries and geographical areas. With their motto of "We Serve", Lions have ventured to take on the challenge of humanitarian service wherever their services are required, taking great pride in saying that "Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion".

Since the chartering of the first club in New Jersey in 1920, Lions have grown to an organization of 175+ local clubs with membership exceeding 4,000. Lions support a wide array of causes across the Garden State, including vision, hunger, the environment, pediatric cancer, diabetes, youth, and individuals with special needs.

Working with local partners, New Jersey Lions serve more than 200,000 people each year.

Lions provide more than just humanitarian service. Through their partners-in-service in the Leo Club Program, Lions’ youth program, they are able to positively impact the lives of young people through servant leadership.

New Jersey Lions carry on a proud tradition of humanitarian service but are always adapting to meet the needs of the present time. New Jersey Lions are mobilized to meet needs during humanitarian crises, including the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, Hurricane Sandy, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Lions across the world hope for a future where no person - man, woman, or child - suffers from an unmet humanitarian need.
