Project Overview

Help cure hunger by providing meals to families in need. The Salvation Army Pantry opens every Tuesday, nourishes families from the inside out with fresh fruits, vegetables, and more.

Volunteers will assist with setting up, unloading food from the delivery truck, sorting and bagging food for distribution, and cleaning up.

The Salvation Army feeds an average of 156,000 every single day in the U.S. Due to growing needs, Salvation Army Food Pantry expanded its location to Ingleside Heights.

  • Project Requirements & Important Notes
  • Volunteers must wear comfortable clothing (layers are recommended) and closed-toed shoes.
  • Volunteers must be able to stand & walk for the duration of the shift, as well as assist with moderate lifting.
  • Volunteers are required to wear a mask that covers both their nose and mouth for the entire duration of the volunteer time.
  • Bilingual (Cantonese / English) folks are encouraged to sign up.
  • Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time.
