Learning Ally is working to solve the literacy problem - the 65% of students who are not proficient in reading by 4th grade. Our volunteers help us create accessible education tools and support us in serving over 1.6 million students and 260,000 educators across the U.S.
The volunteer role:
You can help Learning Ally deepen relationships with school districts across the U.S. To improve support for students and educators across the United States, Learning Ally strives to grow our relationships and deepen our connections with districts.
Learning Ally is looking to deepen our connection with school districts across the U.S. so we can best support them in improving literacy outcomes in their schools. Our goal is for volunteers to research curriculum and instruction plans, school improvement plans, technology used, and news/current events within each district. We will then use this information to address and support individual district and school needs.
We need your help to improve our understanding of individual school and district needs. With your support, we can get more accessible education tools to students and their families across the nation.
Time commitment
This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity. We welcome you to volunteer at any time of the day, any day of the week.
Once you select a district to research, we ask that you complete the research within 2-3 days.
What you’ll do
Using our online data entry District Support Project App , you will be provided a list of districts across the U.S. to choose from and perform research on. You can choose as many districts to research as you’d like, but must complete your research within 2-3 days of selecting the assignment.
You will browse district websites and find links to district plans for curriculum and instruction, school improvement plans, technology used, and news/current events and add your findings to the District Support Project App .
