Support School Districts: Research and Data Entry

Save to Favorites

Learning Ally is looking for volunteers tohelp us grow our connections with school districts and district leaders so we can support them in improving literacy outcomes in their schools.

Why? We work closely with school systems and district leaders to ensure students have access to educational tools that allow struggling readers to become independent, engaged learners who are empowered to achieve socially, emotionally, and academically, regardless of background or learning difference. To improve support for students and educators across the United States, Learning Ally strives to grow our relationships and deepen our connections with districts.

Your mission: Help us stay in contact with district leaders. Find updated contact information so we can ensure students continue to have access to educational tools. With high-turnover rates and staff shortages at schools, we often lose our main point of contact at schools.

What you'll do

  • Volunteers will be given a list of high-priority school districts and asked to locate the district website and find the contact information of the district's administrative assistant/secretary and important district leader contacts (a list of desired titles will be provided)

  • Volunteers will enter the contact information of the administrative assistants/secretaries and district leader contact information they find in Learning Ally's School District Support app.

Time commitment:

  • This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity. We welcome you to volunteer at any time of the day, any day of the week.

  • Training for this role consists of watching a video and reviewing FAQs, which will take less than 10 minutes.

  • Once you select a school district to research, we ask that you complete the tasks assigned to that district within 1-2 days.

Skills and Qualifications you will need
  • Device with Wi-Fi

  • Ability to research information via the web

  • Comfort using technology such as a web-based app

  • Desire and ability to work independently, with some team collaboration when necessary

Mission Statement

Our vision is for all people to have equal opportunities to learn. Our mission is to promote personal achievement when access and reading are barriers to learning by advancing the use of accessible and effective educational solutions.

Today, more than 30 million students struggle to read. By fourth grade, 65% of them are reading below proficiency. With early detection and proven accommodations, we can make strides in alleviating these detrimental consequences. Learning Ally is a leading nonprofit education solutions organization that transforms the lives of early and struggling learners through proven solutions from Pre-K through high school, to help students reach their potential.

We understand that all people learn differently and may need options to achieve their full potential. We are dedicated to helping individuals grow and succeed academically when access and reading are barriers to their learning. We will succeed by partnering with our communities and being a champion for those we serve so they may have the most accessible and effective solutions to achieve their personal best.
