The Cumberland Island National Seashore Museum offers visitors a glimpse in to thousands of years of human history related to the island. There you will see artifacts of daily life from the many peoples who have influenced the island's history.
Our Mainland Museum Docents serve a crucial role by opening and closing the museum, answering questions from visitors about park history and the local area, conducting light cleaning (dusting and vacuuming), assisting the museum curator when needed, and monitoring exhibits for a three hour time period in the afternoon. There is no housing available. Local volunteers or volunteers with their own housing are encouraged to apply.
