The Primary Aldosteronism Foundation is committed to creating the paradigm shift that will lead to optimal standard of care for all affected patients by promoting timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment, fostering targeted research and innovation, and facilitating patient collaboration. The Foundation serves the primary aldosteronism community worldwide, and is headquartered in the US state of Arizona.

We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator. We genuinely care about making a difference for millions of people who struggle with a disease most do not even know they have, and who cannot find the medical help they need. We are also proactively working toward becoming fully funded. This means opportunities to resolve complex and rewarding problems, and to grow with us on that journey.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

You will assist the Co-Directors with:

  • Curating content that is engaging and consistent with the Foundation’s mission
  • Growing the number of followers across key platforms
  • Live-posting to platforms during special events such as Hypertension Day
  • Monitoring and reporting on daily tweets about primary aldosteronism

Prior hands-on experience with social media in a non-profit environment and excellent written communication skills are desired.

We foster a space where everyone can participate, and will make sure you get proper onboarding and have all the information you need.

Description

We are a patient initiative serving the primary aldosteronism community worldwide and are headquartered in the US state of Arizona. Like most patients with PA, our Co-Founders were diagnosed many years after developing the disease, and encountered a great deal of difficulties on the road to treatment. With input from other patients worldwide, they realized that primary aldosteronism was not the rare disease they were told they had, and that instead, primary aldosteronism was "under-diagnosed" and "under-treated" which, in turn, was limiting the chances to see research bring better understanding of and more effective ways to treat the disease. The Primary Aldosteronism Foundation was created to help address these issues with an inclusive model involving researchers, clinicians and patients.

  • Your attendance at an occasional communications meeting may be needed. Overall, we anticipate that 5 to 10 hours of your time will be needed each week.
  • We all work remotely, and at the moment we only accept applicants who live in Canada and the USA.
