Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategist

We are looking for an experienced Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategist to join our team. If you have the right background and passion for social justice, and would like to join our team in mainstreaming sustainable travel through education, we’d be happy to have you on board.

Responsibilities

• Build organization-wide DEI policies and programming and take ownership of the process from ideation to execution, from strategy to evaluation
• Draft and continuously revisit metrics (qualitative and quantitative) that identify gaps and measure progress based on our DEI goals
• Produce periodic DEI accountability reports
• Spearhead the DEI Committee with our Senior Advisor to ensure continuous learning and improvement in organizational culture and practice with respect to DEI
• Develop and implement DEI staff training
• Work closely with all other committees to make sure DEI is considered in every part of our operations and team management

Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience leading diversity and inclusion initiatives
• Knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding access, equity, diversity, inclusion, implicit bias and institutional racism
• Knowledge and experience facilitating and leading difficult conversations
• Experience communicating effectively to front-line staff, marketing team, executive leadership, Board members, partners and diverse constituents
• Experience developing relationships with underserved or underrepresented communities especially youth

Time Commitment
The DEI Strategist is expected to commit 2-4 hours of volunteer time per week. This is an unpaid position. RISE Travel Institute is startup 501(c)3 nonprofit run entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to inspire young travelers to create positive social, economic and environmental impact on travel destinations.
