Sewers Needed for Memory Bears!

Divine Light Hospice is looking for volunteers who have a passion for sewing and would like to use their skills and creativity to construct a unique memory bear as a lasting keepsake for a bereaved family member.
Families are given the opportunity to donate clothes from loved ones under our care and have them converted into a memory bear that the family can cherish for years to come. During times of loss and grief, memory bears can offer great comfort. Memory bears are made for bereaved adults and children. They offer a sense of connection and closeness to bereaved family members who miss their loved one.

Sewers will receive a memory bear request from the Divine Light Hospice team and will schedule their own sewing time to fit their busy schedules. Sewers will give the hospice team a time frame for which they believe the memory bear will be completed. Once completed, the sewer and the hospice team will determine the best way for the memory bear to be received by the hospice team. Materials provided for the making of the memory bears are, clothing, bear pattern, and other necessary memory bear materials.
