Purpose
The Nature Ambassador’s primary purpose is to lead (present) a variety of quality educational programs and assist the park naturalists in their programs for the public and scheduled groups.
Responsibilities
Nature Ambassadors are responsible for presenting educational programs such as campfire talks, full moon walks, and large event programs at Bear Creek Lake Park and other areas as assigned. Nature Ambassadors are responsible to complete a minimum 20 hours per year and LEAD at least two educational programs a year as well as assist in Nature Ambassador specific positions for at least 1 large event i.e.: Let’s Go Camping, Haunted Trail, Winter Solstice.
Schedule
Shifts will mainly be evenings and weekends and vary depending on program schedules. Shifts will also be created to provide roving or stationary educational opportunities within the parks. This is a year-round position.
Nature Guide Purpose
The Nature Guide’s primary purpose is to assist the Park Naturalists and Nature Ambassadors in a variety of quality educational programs for the public and scheduled groups.
Responsibilities
Nature Guides are responsible for assisting in educational programs such as campfire talks, full moon walks, and large events at Bear Creek Lake Park and other areas as assigned. Nature Guides will assist with crowd control, set up and tear down, and other educational program tasks. Guides will not be leading educational programs. Nature Guides are responsible to complete a minimum 20 hours per year and assist with at least two educational programs a year as well as assist in Nature Guide specific positions for at least 1 large event i.e.: Let’s Go Camping, Haunted Trail, Winter Solstice.
