Preferred Hospice of Ozark is in urgent need of volunteers to visit with patients both in long term care facilities and their homes in the greater Springfield area such as Republic, Willard and Branson. Our patients were greatly impacted by the pandemic and were isolated for some time. They are thriving with one on one companionship. Our volunteers become personal companions and friends to our patients. Typically, patients are wanting someone to simply visit and interact with. This is most often through conversation, but can include, reading, crafts, puzzles, painting nails, etc. If this sounds like something that interests you, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Ann Blake at 417.581.4968 Monday through Friday 8-5 or via via email at ablake.oz@preferredhospice.com. Preferred Hospice does reimburse mileage accrued from visiting patients at $.47 a mile. Please contact us to set up a time to further discuss this opportunity and fill out the application and background check. Preferred Hospice does require drug screen, TB tests, and frequent Covid tests. A copy of your vaccination card is appreciated but not required.
