KEEN Chicago provides free sports and recreational programs for youth with disabilities. Our sessions are designed in a way to reunite our Athletes safely while also helping them to cope with the mental health implications of the pandemic.
We have a traditional sports program in the gym as well as programming in areas such as music, art, and yoga. On this program date, we will be offering sports and yoga and need volunteers present at both programs. Volunteers are needed on-site to assist with check-in, sanitizing supplies, and providing assistance and support to our Athletes who may need extra help in order to participate in the activities.
KEEN serves individuals with such diverse disabilities as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and various developmental and intellectual disabilities. KEEN's mission is to foster the self-esteem, confidence, skills and talents of our athletes through non-competitive activities, allowing young people facing even the most significant challenges to meet their individual goals. WE CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU!
Masks are required at all session and volunteers must be fully vaccinated prior to joining us in-person. Our sites require proof of vaccination status in order to enter the facilities. We also have strict capacity limits. All volunteers must go to our website and fill out the application prior to participation at https://www.keenchicago.org/volunteer-registration.
