Recruiting Organization: Sparking Life

Sparking Life, Inc., is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing mind-body wellness through physical fitness. Using evidence-based research, our mission is to advocate, develop and implement exercise modalities to benefit mental health. These applications include addiction recovery; trauma and stress in first responders; ADD, ADHD and autism in children; and healthy aging.

Sparking Life is seeking new members to join its Board of Directors and serve as volunteer leaders responsible for charting the organization’s vision. Candidates must have an entrepreneurial mindset while demonstrating passion for our purpose and commitment to the individuals and communities supported by our work through programs, services, education and advocacy awareness.

To expand our competency-based Board, we are targeting individuals with experience in the following sectors: Fundraising and/or Venture Capital, Business Management, Legal, Event Planning, Insurance and Healthcare. However, we welcome interested applicants from any background who would like to impact the Sparking Life mission in a meaningful way.

Directors attend virtual strategy meetings on a monthly basis, as well as any other applicable events. Directors are also responsible for serving on and/or leading Committees within the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

· Ensure long-term financial stability and fiscal responsibility by facilitating revenue streams, setting and monitoring an annual budget, and establishing a multi-year strategic plan that is reviewed regularly.

· Directly contribute to the big-picture goals for the organization--particularly by lending one’s own expertise and experience in their field(s).

· Serve as a Sparking Life brand ambassador by increasing overall awareness and promoting the organization’s mission whenever appropriate/possible.

· Build a future volunteer leadership "pipeline" and prioritize Board succession planning.

· Cultivate a culture that prioritizes and invests in inclusion, diversity, equity, and access, while fostering a community that is representative of the U.S. demographic make-up.
