Recruiting Organization: Public Allies Arizona

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

Public Allies Arizona is changing the face and practice of leadership throughout Arizona communities by demonstrating our conviction that everyone can lead, and that lasting change results when citizens of all backgrounds step up, take responsibility, and work together.

We are currently seeking young activists, creators, aspiring entrepreneurs, civic engagers, and dreamers to take charge in their communities. We offer a 10-month, full time PAID apprenticeship program within local nonprofits and state agencies aimed at advancing social justice and equity by engaging and activating the leadership of all young people.

Tempe Community Council- TCC’s mission is to connect those in need with those who care. TCC does this by convening community, conducting research, determining priorities, implementing effective programs and exemplifying prudent stewardship of resources. A vital Tempe Community Council program, known as Agency Review, has a growing number of volunteers from the Tempe community, who wish to increase and improve our volunteer process, communication and overall volunteer experience. These citizens are empowered to make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council of Tempe about how human services funding is allocated.

The Public Ally will build capacity by increasing citizen engagement, increasing representation of people of color and younger volunteers, educating and sharing information about our non-profit partner’s successes and challenges, and by providing a more efficient and effective volunteer process and experience.

The goals are to implement a new volunteer management system, increase the number of new volunteers who are people of color or young adults by at least 15%, provide expanded volunteer training opportunities (at least two), and to create a venue and system for sharing agency information and produce a system and outlet for on-going communication (community building) with volunteers.
