Charter School Initiative:

CreateYourScholarship.org is partnering with The Compass School from Universal Education to open several non-profit charter schools in different states in the US. The Compass School is a virtual school with a very unique program that provides 100% live online courses to students, see below for additional information on the organization.

About The Compass School:

The Compass School is the K12 division of Universal Education. Universal Education is an institution committed to improving access to high-quality education for students, teachers, and professionals around the world. All of our courses are taught in a synchronous remote format.

We utilize leading education pedagogy and technology from the United States and abroad to provide premium courses and academic support services to students and institutions. Through the integration of accredited courses and institutional relations, Universal Education is able to work with students over long periods to highlight their true capacity and bring forward well-rounded, bright, enthusiastic learners.

Education exists in many forms, and at The Compass School, we are shaping its future. We offer families virtual learning opportunities at a first-class educational institution that is an alternative to the traditional school building, school day, and school setting. We believe that The Compass School can offer more benefits to students: more options in course offerings, more freedom in daily schedule and living, more personalized attention to individual needs, and more flexibility for parents and students to find their own academic path to success.

Our courses are managed through our proprietary learning management system, UE+, which has a variety of features necessary for delivering remote synchronous classes including messaging, managing class files, grading and much more! The live class component is taught through Zoom which is integrated directly into our LMS.

About the Position:

We are applying to become a charter school in several different states and are seeking volunteer board members to serve on our charter school board. Legally this position must be a volunteer position however board members are eligible to receive per-diem for attending quarterly board meetings (will be virtual meetings). The charter school board is responsible for oversight of the school and advising the administration to help them run a high quality school that aligns with the schools long term strategic vision. Charter school board members are diverse in their backgrounds and skillsets so they can provide qualitative advice to the schools administration regarding governance, legal, financial, and academics issues.
