This organized administrative assistant will fulfill daily tasks to aid the Co-Director/ Founder and Food Coordinator in ensuring that all Food Access Program operations run smoothly. This volunteer must have solid customer service and interpersonal skills, an understanding of Microsoft programs, and exceptional communication skills (both written and oral).

Key responsibilities include:

• Keeps track of phone calls and voicemails from Food Access clients
• Returns client phone calls to complete intake forms or answer necessary questions regarding the Food Access program
• Communicates with other Fit and Food team members to coordinate events and complete tasks
• Informs the Food Coordinator of volunteer schedule changes or support needed for the weekly food delivery
• Assists the Food Coordinator with adding people from the waitlist if they don’t pick up their food and updating the food delivery spreadsheets
• Coordinates orders of food in the correct quantities and pickup in a timely manner
• Assists with the organization of monthly and holiday food drives
• Strategically makes delivery routes in areas of need
• Works on helping with dry bags and fresh bags
• Keeps track of food inventory for the Food Assistance & Delivery service
• Communicates with Food Access volunteers
• Schedules volunteers to sort and deliver
• Corresponds with volunteers on route changes or if additional support is needed for delivery
• Works with Volunteer Coordinator to update active volunteer accounts in data system
• Research upcoming projects and ideas to further the mission of The Fit and Food Connection
• Assists and fills in when volunteer drivers cannot deliver food
