Recruiting Organization: Backpack Brigade

We are in need of food packers on Tuesday and Thursday mornings! You will help pack 70 or more bags that go right to kids suffering from homelessness or housing insecurity in King County.

We are a small 501c3 nonprofit, whose sole mission is to end weekend hunger in Washington State. By delivering bags of food to schools, we feed over 2,500 kids per week to help them make it from Friday lunch to Monday breakfast without a single stomach growl. Make an impact in your community today!

On Tuesday, volunteers arrive between 8:00 am and 9:30 am. Packing a table typically takes about an hour and a half. On Thursdays, delivery days, we'd love you here at 8:00 sharp to make sure we get the crates finished before drivers arrive to take them to the kiddos.

We serve schools in Renton, Laurelhurst, Bellevue, and everywhere in between.

Our warehouse is located near Showbox Sodo, Filson, and Krispy Kreme on 1st Avenue South Seattle.

Please consider becoming a weekly packer for Backpack Brigade. With recent expansions into new districts, we are at our limit and don’t have the heart to turn anyone away. Do something for the most vulnerable in our community today!
