Recruiting Organization: Amedisys Hospice - Kansas City MO
Do you have a heart for bringing caring and happiness to others? Would you enjoy the opportunity to brighten a hospice patient’s day - and provide much-needed respite for their caregiver? If so, Amedisys Hospice would love to have you consider joining our volunteer team!
You might visit patients at their homes or in facilities -- or write cards or make phone calls to patients from your home. You might read to a patient, share your musical talents, play games, do crafts, or help them document their life memories for family. Or you might just sit with the patient to provide a comforting, caring presence. There is room for creativity!
Some families might need help with household activities like running errands, walking pets or other tasks to help keep things running smoothly. (We also have administrative and outreach opportunities if that is a better fit for you.)
Time commitments and roles vary, depending on patient needs and what you feel is the best fit for you. Weekday or weekend options available. Opportunities are available on the MO and KS sides of the state line.
If bringing joy and comfort to others brings YOU joy, please contact us to learn more about becoming a hospice volunteer. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and complete an interview and background check. Contact Laura O’Brien at laura.obrien@amedisys.com to learn more!
