In the southern part of Cochabamba there is a shelter for children and teenagers whose moms work in prostitution. The niños come to the center to eat three meals a day and are supported in making their home work and get psychological support. They organize all kinds of activities like soccer and board games, creative therapy and cooking classes. As a volunteer or intern you can work as an English teacher. Knowledge of English is mandatory, but you don’t need a teaching degree. Experience in teaching is preferred, but also not mandatory.
Another option is to work as an activities counselor. The organization wants to help and support the kids to process their traumas. By providing these services and activities they want the children and teenagers to have a place where they can relax and develop themselves.

BSA exists in the service of Casa de la Alegría: a foundation that with its love and dedication supports children and youngsters who have dealt with (family) traumas like sexual, mental and/or physical abuse or addiction. Their mission is to empower vulnerable, precious children so they can finally discover their strengths and talents. In the end both as for the coming future, these children will be able to raise their voice and to embody the new generation which can make a true difference to a local, sustainable and loving everyday life. All profits made by BSA will go directly to Casa de la Algeria.
