Recruiting Organization: Health & Home Care Society of BC

The Heath and Home Care Society of BC is an independent and locally based non-profit organization. The Meals on Wheels Program serves over 400 meals per day to isolated seniors in Vancouver.

We need your help urgently! We are looking for volunteers to deliver meals to seniors in the Downtown East Side/Strathcona neighbourhood on week day mornings. One to two hours once a week is all it takes to help!

Volunteers deliver meals in our community by car with mileage reimbursement. In addition to a hot meal, volunteers provide a friendly chat and an informal safety check on our clients. Typically, our volunteers commit to delivery once per week, however, we are willing to work around how much time you have to give.

Current Volunteer Positions available:

Meal Delivery Route Driver

Route drivers pick up meals from a depot then deliver hot meals directly to clients, providing a friendly visit and informal check on their safety.

Shifts: Flexible; between 10:30 am-1:00 pm, Monday to Friday

We provide orientation, support and mileage reimbursement for our volunteer drivers.

During the Covid 19 outbreak, we are doing our part to keep our Meals on Wheels clients and volunteers healthy and safe. Covid Vaccinations are required. Thank you for your understanding.

We would love you to join our team and help us to provide meals and care with a smile! Please contact Vicki at 604-733-9177 x 107 or apply online here:
