Recruiting Organization: Ru'Day's Helping Hands
Ru’Day’s Helping Hands is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to lessen the effects and ultimately eradicate homelessness, food insecurity and support our clients by providing the tools and resources necessary to re-enter into the community. We aid families, individuals and at-risk youths. We are in the process of expanding our organization and building out our programs and are looking to reorganize our Board of Directors. This is a volunteer opportunity with a commitment obligation of one (1) year for someone who wants to impact lives and has a passion to help our fellow human.
Secretary: Records meeting minutes making sure to include key information such as board actions, elections of officers or directors, and any reports from committees and staff. Works in conjunction with the Chair of the Board with meeting logistics. Work with the CEO and board in the creation of policies, procedures, and standards. Custodian of the organization’s records responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and meeting legal requirements, such as annual filing deadlines, business licenses which includes Federal, State and City filings. Maintain a board binder containing the governing documents, key governance policies, minutes of board meetings, and written consents. Responsible for reviewing and updating documentation as necessary and ensuring all documents are securely stored and readily accessible for inspection by directors and/or members. Obtain the knowledge of the organization’s records and related materials and provide advice and resources to the board on relevant topics at issue, such as particular governance matters being addressed at a meeting or a new amendment to state corporate law. Keep a calendar of filing requirements and deadlines and have clear assignments (with backups) to help ensure they are all met in a timely manner. Work with the CEO and board in the creation of policies, procedures, and standards.
