Recruiting Organization: Plowshare Farm

Plowshare Farm is a lifesharing community in Greenfield, New Hampshire where people with and without special needs live and work side by side to build an inclusive and sustainable community. Plowshare has an immediate opening to join our Volunteer Circle. This is a fully immersive live-in service and learning opportunity in sustainability, Anthroposophy and sharing life with others, including those with developmental disabilities. Position begins asap and runs through the first week of August 2022.

Plowshare Farm is seeking those with:

~ hearts wide enough to include others in 'home'

~ hands and feet ready for the many tasks in a sustainability-oriented community

~ and heads ripe for new learning

Volunteer responsibilities include:

~ Living in and helping to carry one of our lifesharing homes where people with disabilities, coworkers, and volunteers live together in a community-based setting. This includes supporting residents with disabilities in activities of daily living along with cooking, cleaning, laundry, and other regular household chores.

~ Participation in 1-2 workshop areas, depending on community need and personal interest, such as biodynamic farming and gardening, baking, woodworking, wool and fiber arts, and helping to run our Local Share community cafe.

Benefits include:

~ Free room and board, medical insurance if needed, and a monthly allowance for incidental expenses.

~ Two free days per week.

~ Gain skills in sustainable living, including opportunities for farm or garden apprenticeship and training in biodynamic agriculture, and building skills in crafting, cooking, baking, land stewardship or woodworking.
