Recruiting Organization: Community Impact at Columbia University
Community Impact, Columbia University is currently recruiting volunteer teachers and tutors for our TASC (high school equivalency program).
The fall 2021 program runs from September - December.
Teachers may volunteer one of two days a week and teach a TASC subject area: Reading/Writing and Social Studies or Math and Science. Experience is preferred, but not required! If you are new to teaching we'll pair you with an experienced co-teacher.
Our classes are 4 days a week, Monday through thursday. You can choose to come to morning classes which are typically from 10:30am-1:30pm or you can choose evening classes which are 6pm-8:30pm. Due to university policy, we are asking all instructors to be vaccinated prior to starting.
Openings are available for Reading/Writing and Social Studies on Mondays both mornings and evenings. There are also morning and evening openings available for Math and Science on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ideally the volunteer would teach one subject on both days at the same time.
