The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international volunteers-led think tank supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change.

The Role

We are looking for a professional live Interpreter with excellent oral and writing skills who can has proficiency in both English and French/Spanish on a C2 or native level. Interpreters will be required to provide consecutive translation at certain events and/or meetings upon request, dependent on their availability.

You responsibilities (dependent on your work stream) will include:

· Reporting to the Translation Manager and consecutive interpretation during meetings with foreign stakeholders

· Answering language-related queries and assisting with our developing country service users who require language support

· Cooperating with other volunteers on ad hoc projects

Person Specification

Skills & Abilities

• C2 or native proficiency in English and French/Spanish/Spanish
• Experience in Consecutive interpretation for meetings and/or events
• Knowledge of Consecutive interpretation techniques

General & Specialist Knowledge

• Some knowledge on topics central to the BCI such as climate change, climate finance and blockchain technology preferred.

Education & Training

· A relevant degree or training in Languages or Communications preferred.

Relevant Experience

• 2+ years experience as an Interpreter;
• Experience in providing virtual interpretation on appropriate platforms;
• Experience of working independently and with teams to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
