Wilmat Development Foundation is searching for a passionate and Cause driven Fundraising Volunteers, with the desire to gain more skills and experience to build on their profession through Resource Mobilization/Fundraising for a cause.

This Volunteer opportunity will give you a chance to practice and enhance on your communication and networking skills and ability fundraise for a cause that you are Most passionate about. You will be working with a Team of experience and passionate team that will be at your disposal to enhance your dedication through introducing you to the world of differently related persons and organizations with a diverse perspective and culture.

VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTION

Wilmat Development Foundation (WDF) raises funds each year from individuals, companies, charities, christian ministries, and events to support projects which create sustainable change to improve the lives of underserved women, young mothers, children and the elderly in Africa.

This Volunteership opportunity is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience of Wilmat Development Foundation’s work and of its fundraising streams. It will be of particular interest to someone wanting to gain knowledge of and experience supporting fundraising in all streams.

As a Volunteer, you will provide general support to the team, both in the office (Virtually), meetings and at events (Virtually), including for private donor and public challenge events. You will work towards setting and achieving fundraising targets with the Fundraising Development Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Duties will be tailored to meet the learning objectives of a successful candidate. If you have a particular interest in developing fundraising skills not directly listed below please ensure these are highlighted in your cover letter.


A typical day might involve:

General administration

 Sending letters and emails as required

 Setting up Fundraising campaigns and ensuring their success.

 Managing social media platforms of the organization.

 Input any thoughts and ideas that you might have.

 Logging important information on the Fundraising's database.


Corporate and Individual Fundraising

 Research potential corporate and major donor fundraising sources.

 Making initial telephone/email enquiries to potential funders/sponsors.

 Provide support in data gathering for proposal writing and submission.

 Support the development of proposals to individuals and corporates identified.

 Dealing with supporter queries and requests, e.g. assisting them with finding raffle prizes for events.

 Assisting in Fundraising activities for a cause and goal setting.

 Logging all actions on GivingWay Platform database.

 Attend and contribute to weekly meetings with the team.
