Recruiting Organization: Allies for Every Child (formerly known as Westside Children's Center)

Quick Overview: We are looking for individuals who would like to volunteer their time to help out families in need on Saturday, November 6. Allies for Every Child is facilitating an outdoor Food Drive-Thru where we provide families with fresh produce and non-perishable food. We will need volunteers to help with food sorting, packaging, and unloading food into the trunks of our families' cars. There are two shifts volunteers can sign up for: 8:30-11:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Impact: Allies for Every Child exists to serve Los Angeles' most vulnerable children. Our Saturday food-drive thru will be serving low-income families from the Los Angeles County.

Mission: All children need a childhood. At Allies for Every Child, we bring together and strengthen families, cultivating conditions for children to succeed in life. We are child wellbeing experts, early learning educators, social workers, therapists, and child advocates who meet every child and every family where they are. We intervene to alleviate chaos, engender stability, treat trauma, and ultimately ensure that all children have a childhood. We do this by providing high-quality early education programs, family strengthening interventions, foster care and adoption services, and integrated services.

Additional Information: Allies for Every Child is following every recommended precaution to ensure the safety of our staff and volunteers. Per our vaccination policy, staff and onsite volunteers are required to provide proof of receiving their COVID-19 vaccination. Every person onsite will be subjected to a health screener before their shift. Everyone is required to wear a face mask and gloves for the duration of their shift. Hand sanitizer and disposable gloves will be available for volunteers to use at all times. The event is held outdoors and so volunteers are asked to dress appropriately for the weather.
