FOOD PANTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive client.
• Assign client a cart and instruct them on shopping rules.
• Help clients as needed by reading, reaching, etc.
• Straighten all shelves.
• Check-out client.
• Bag client’s order.
• Check expiration dates on open, dated products.
• Light housekeeping such as, sweeping the floor, cleaning check-out counter and shelves, etc.

WAREHOUSE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehouse Stockers and Sorters are responsible for receiving, sorting, and stocking all donations to the CCM Food Pantry. This position will include proper rotation of products to insure use of products before their expiration dates. Maintenance of shelving and food to insure clean and secure storage of all food items donated.

Requirements for this position:

• Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
• Ability to read and understand Date and Rotation policies
• Good organization skills
• Ability to work on their knees, on stools, or bent over for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities are as follows

1. Receiving donated Items

• o Volunteer is responsible for answering the door and receiving donated food.
• o Volunteer will assist the donor with donations by helping unload their car if necessary.
• o Volunteer will interact with donors to insure In-kind donation slip is complete.
• o Assist in unloading and loading trucks at the receiving dock.

1. Sorting donated products

• o Responsible for sorting items by date and properly rotating warehouse items to insure oldest items are used first.
• o Rotation and stocking of items on warehouse shelves.

1. Stocking of Food Pantry Shelves

• o Responsible of refilling Food Pantry shelves from the warehouse shelves.
• o Responsible for insuring proper rotation of product stocked on Food Pantry Shelves.
