Recruiting Organization: Many Languages One Voice
Many Languages One Voice's board of directors strives to maintain diversity and inclusion throughout the organization. The board of directors welcomes applications from anyone interested in joining our governing body. We strongly encourage Black & indigenous people of color, women and LGBTQ to apply. We also welcome persons with a background in advocacy, immigration or organizing.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR candidates who have a deep interest in the subject matter
Are passionate about humanitarian issues, with a special interest in immigration, refugee rights and human rights navigating through the DC landscape
Will take an active role in promoting and supporting the organization
Will network on behalf of the organization
Will brainstorm in all areas of organization, including the strategic planning of programming and events
Will be available to meet via Zoom or video call at least once a month with additional, small-group calls as needed throughout the year
Have experience with media, blogging, social media, or communications
Experience in philanthropy, fundraising, capacity and/or organizing is a plus
OUR BOARD QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS ARE TO HAVE EXCELLENT CANDIDATES WHO:
Attend consistent board meetings
Serve in an advisory capacity to MLOV team by sharing ideas, opinions and information
Contribute annually a target of $1,000 through fundraising, individual funds or through personal networks
Assist in the planning and participation of at least one (1) fundraising event per year
At least once a year, contribute or write a short article pertaining to the immigrant community that will appear on our website and social media
Share MLOV's mission, vision and goals to raise continued awareness
