Recruiting Organization: CASA of Arizona
CASA of Santa Cruz promotes and supports community-based volunteers who advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in juvenile dependency cases.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are the only volunteers that are appointed by a judge and empowered to stand up for an abused or neglected child in court.
CASA Volunteers help to ensure that children who are abused and/or neglected are protected and assisted through every step of the legal process. The CASA Volunteer generally represents only one case at a time, but any case may affect more than one child. CASA Volunteers interview all parties to the case, ensure appropriate services are being offered to the child and family, and obtain factual and objective information with which they make recommendations to the court at all review hearings.
In Arizona, there are 15 county CASA programs administered by the CASA of Arizona office which is a program of the Dependent Children's Services Division of the Arizona Supreme Court Administrative Office of the Courts.
CASA of Arizona and its volunteers have been advocating for abused and neglected children in Arizona for over 35 years and have served over 25,000 children.
CASA of Santa Cruz County is part of a nationwide movement of community volunteers and is an affiliate member of the National CASA Association.
We invite you to find out more about our family of volunteers, everyday people, who are committed to improving children's lives!
