Recruiting Organization: Cornerstone Foundation Belize

Volunteers and interns are needed to help us make a difference in the lives of hungry children.

Cornerstone Foundation works with several schools in the twin towns to identify and feed students who would otherwise suffer from hunger while striving to learn.

There are so many ways you can help at our food program and in the community:

  1. Get to know our children, spend time and eat lunch with them, help them feel important, bring them hope for a bright future
  2. Bring art and craft supplies, encourage creativity, spark inspiration, create masterpieces
  3. Bring seeds, plant a little garden, learn about our local foods and plants, help children understand the concepts of sustainability and nutrition and conservation and preservation
  4. Entertain, share music, make instruments, dance, teach yoga and mindfulness, share ways to remain calm during life's storms and how to make lemonade out of lemons
  5. Fund raise, bake and sell, volunteer at our thrift store, identify food and financial donors, mobilize the community to make a difference in the lives of our children
  6. Take your experiences back home and share with others, create an online donor program, encourage others to participate and to come visit our children, together we make the difference!

Cornerstone Foundation is a small community development organization in the multi-cultural Central American country of Belize. For more information, please see http://cornerstonefoundationbelize.org/about/.

Cornerstone provides accommodations (dorm style), a hot home cooked Belizean midday meal on work days, orientations (volunteer, house, cultural, office, and program), staff direction, professional networking, and office space (including equipment and supplies).

Volunteers and interns contribute financially to Cornerstone and must have travel health insurance. Apply to volunteer as an individual or in a group, for the cultural and life experience and / or for internship credit at your school: http://cornerstonefoundationbelize.org/get_involved/.

Cornerstone’s office and housing are both located in San Ignacio in the Cayo District of Belize (11 miles from Guatemala). Volunteer and intern terms range from one week to as long as six months. Applicants must be 18 years or older. Students, retirees, and other adults are welcome to apply. We can't wait to meet you!
