Although education and health play a crucial role in the country’s development, the role of the government in these sectors has not been effective. Mostly the budget allocated by the government is spent on the wages and there is hardly any money left for the materials and construction works. The condition of the infrastructure is so poor and even unsafe at times. Improvement is essentials. Everest Foundation Nepal seeks to improve the condition of the school, orphanages and health sectors’ infrastructure by initiating the room and building construction projects in Nepal. The success of this project lies in the coordination of the volunteers and the local people. So building a mutual understanding is also an important part of this project. The construction process may vary to western countries as people may use local tools available in the community. The process is quite simple so participants don’t need to have special skills. Participants need to be physically and mentally in shape to work in different weather conditions. The construction work may take 1-3 weeks with volunteers working 4-5 hours a day. The volunteers will be supported by skilled Nepali personnel and the local people providing labour for the development of their community. Though previous experience is handy the volunteer without experience can also be a vital part of the project. This project will benefit the children and the schools in a community and help the schools to teach children in an improved and suitable environment. During the volunteering period, participants may stay in a hostel or with local families near from construction project.
