This AmeriCorps Member will work to increase learning opportunities for economically disadvantaged immigrant and refugee adults in our community. In addition to teaching small group classes, the AmeriCorps Member will provide ongoing support to students and to volunteer tutors. The AmeriCorps position duties and responsibilities include: * Plan and teach on-going classes focusing on English language, basic life skills, civics and citizenship, and basic digital literacy * Manage caseload of students, conducting intake interviews and assessment, helping students to establish a learning plan and connecting students with learning opportunities to make progress in achieving their literacy and life skills goals * Match students with individual tutors * Provide direct lesson planning and instructional support to volunteer tutors * Conduct outreach to increase community awareness of Literacy Source programs.
