Believe In Me is seeking a Volunteer Investment Analyst to assist with the evaluation, recommendation and ongoing monitoring of Believe In Me’s portfolio of alternative investments, including private equity, private credit, real estate, or other liquid alternatives and alternative fixed income investments ("Alternative Investments"). This volunteer position will support all aspects of the Alternative Investments program, conducting research, sourcing investment opportunities, portfolio monitoring, reporting, forecasting and communications, analytics and modeling, and supporting special projects.

Ideal Candidate
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Naturally curious and love to learn, relish solving puzzles.
  • Comfortable using empirical data to suggest solutions to ambiguous problems.
  • Understanding of probability distributions to make decisions within an uncertain environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • In-depth research of various investment-related topics relative to the evaluation of potential investment opportunities.
  • Evaluation, modeling, peer benchmarking, and decision recommendations relative to various strategic or opportunistic Alternative Investments.
  • Quantitative and qualitative quarterly review of Alternative Investments performance.
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or degree candidate in Finance or Accounting.
  • Interest in finance/investments, with basic accounting knowledge
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set
  • Ability to work closely with senior management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Ability and openness to understanding operational, accounting, and legal aspects of investments.
  • Ability to use or learn research tools such as PitchBook and Capital IQ.
  • Familiarity with charting and graphing, along with advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail, Google Drive).
