Recruiting Organization: Mobile Info Team

What we need: We are looking for our next volunteer Advocacy Assistant! Mobile Info Team is a Greece-based organisation that provides legal advice and information to people seeking asylum and refugees throughout Greece and as part of the Border Violence Monitoring Network - an independent Network of NGOs and associations mainly based in the Balkan regions and in Greece - monitors human rights violations at Europe’s borders and advocates to stop the violence exerted against people on the move.

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, compassionate individual with strong knowledge of human rights and issues affecting people-on-the-move.

Key responsibilities:

• Undertake research and analysis for policy papers, UN submissions, research reports and media pieces
• Assist in the management of social media to raise awareness on the situation in Greece
• Assist with drafting advocacy materials
• Quantitative and qualitative data collection, including tasking testimonies of border violence
• Monitor the human rights situation in Greece

Essential skills/experience: Degree in a relevant field (law, human rights, refugee studies etc.); excellent writing skills; experience in research, policy or advocacy.

Desirable: Knowledge of push-backs and/or border violence; knowledge of the Common European Asylum System; knowledge of the Greek refugee context; social media experience; willing to relocate to Greece.

Commitment: We are looking for a commitment of at least 6 months starting around February 2022. A small monthly stipend will be offered.
