POSITION OVERVIEW

The program manager for potable water systems reports to the executive director and oversees the organization’s efforts to provide rural communities with potable, chlorinated water.


RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage and oversee potable water projects in 12 remote villages where the Brigade has established and manages rural health programs

· Make periodic visits to the communities during the course of the year

· Collaborate with our partner EOS International to monitor water chlorination and provide technical assistance

· Collaborate with EOS to develop annual contract for training of community water board members and chlorine monitoring

· Identify program objectives

· Identify, track and provide monthly and quarterly reports on program outcomes

· Prepare written content for relevant grant applications (program overview, outcomes)

· Work closely with VHCMB’s community development program team and executive director

· Collaborate with funding entities in managing water project construction and expansion


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree or higher

· Bilingual in Spanish and English

· Availability during regular business hours

· Highly organized with solid communications and follow-through skills

· Ability to collaborate with volunteers from a variety of cultural and professional backgrounds

· Proficiency with Microsoft software and Google Drive shared document systems as well as WhatsApp

· Passion for VHCMB mission and vision and a desire to improve the lives of others


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

· Compassion for those living in poverty

· Experience working or volunteering internationally

· Cultural sensitivity and/or knowledge of Hispanic culture

· Willingness to hike in the mountains and sleep overnight in VHCMB clinics (a very rustic experience!)

Schedule:

· Bi-monthly (2x/month) check-in with executive director (business hours)

· Quarterly community development meetings (evenings)

· Approximately 2 hours per week between meetings
