ORGANIZATION: Idealist.org

Recruiting Organization: M4A FOUNDATION - CROWDDOING

CrowdDoing is a joint initiative between Reframe It and Match4Action. A foundation that is focused on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and beyond through micro-leadership, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and service-learning to support social innovation, a social enterprise to achieve systemic change.

CrowdDoing Business of America Project(BFA) - BFA is a nonprofit organization that is encouraging businesses from the Fortune 500 to Main Street to get involved in promoting a healthy democracy. Volunteering for BFA means you’ll get to create marketing content about giving employees time off to vote, investing in election security, and promoting civic engagement in local communities.

Role Summary:

This volunteer role is a good fit for an academic, current or former researcher or reporter, or

a stay-at-home parent who is comfortable navigating the Web and cultivating a list of sources to

broadly track events, announcements, blogs, and press coverage of the relationship of politics

to business.

Essential Tasks:

The researcher’s main responsibility will be to keep BFA up to date on the evolving relationship

between American business and public/civic life. This will likely include tracking the online activity, announcements, and progress of large and small businesses, business organizations, trade associations, Chambers of Commerce, nonprofits, and BFA partner organizations throughout the US, looking for noteworthy examples and milestones related to businesses taking an active role in supporting a healthy democracy.

The researcher will be asked to distribute a prioritized summary of new content on a weekly

basis for use by BFA internally and in communications with BFA members.

The researcher should have a background that includes significant online research experience in some field, a general familiarity with business, and sufficient writing and analytic skills to be able to

recognize, organize, and summarize appropriate content.

The only way CrowdDoing.world can realize its impact potential is through virtual volunteers, service learners( http://blog.reframeit.com/service-learning-and-skilled-volunteering/), and micro-leaders ( https://real-leaders.com/leveraging-micro-leadership-to-make-aspirational-goals-achievable/) coming together.

See this brief video aboutMicro-leadership at CrowdDoing ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhdB2YJ8Ocs&app=desktop). Micro-leadership means that each person adopts a dimension of responsibility for a collective problem in our society through collaborating on that area creatively individually and together through social innovation.
