Recruiting English Volunteer Tutors for Korean Adults and Seniors

Hanul Family Alliance is looking for volunteers who can teach speaking, listening, reading, writing, and general conversation for English language learners. Bring your energy and goodwill to Hanul to help support our local Korean American community!

Schedule:

  • Registration period: November 29 - December 10, 2021
  • Semester: Week of January 10 - Week of March 14, 2021 (10 weeks)
  • Tutoring is 1.5 hours a week (schedule flexible to best match tutor and student)

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Tutor English to non-native English speaking adult learners through virtual platforms (Zoom, Google Meet)
  • Class will be 1:1 or small group ESL class
  • Minimum of 12-hours ESL tutor training required, training provided virtually and for free
  • Create creative learning sessions
  • Track students' progress and attendance
  • Foster and grow intercultural relationships
  • Must commit to a 10-week semester schedule of tutoring for 1.5 hours a week (15 hours)
  • Knowledge of Korean is not required
