Recruiting Organization: Great Kids Farm

Seeking out-going and fun-loving Field Trip Volunteers to assist with our Fall field trips - weekdays and very occasional weekend programs.

1st to 5th grade students come to our 33 acre outdoor learning laboratory that provides Baltimore City Public Schools’ students with hands-on, real world farm-based and culinary experiences. We run additional programs for students of all ages from schools for students with special needs, and occasional 9th grade stream studies field trips.

As a volunteer, you'll help with field trip set-up, assist our lead educators in teaching experiential lessons with our plants and animals, engage with the students and have fun answering student questions and hanging out during lunch. You may help prep food in our commercial kitchen for student tastings.

Field trips occur on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from mid-Sept to Thanksgiving and from the second week of march until mid-June. (Days may shift in Spring). Volunteer hours are 9a-1p. Volunteers must commit at least 1 day per week over a minimum of 2 months to receive training and join our student programs. Come join the fun!

Call or Email us to tell us about yourself and why you're interested and then we'll set you up for a visit! Not available on weekdays or that often but you might want to help with an occasional program? Be in touch. We need volunteers for our seasonal summits (weekdays), our spring fling (Saturday), and our fall and spring weekend seedling giveaways (Saturdays).

(Must be age 18+ and regular volunteers must pass a background check, paid for by Baltimore City Public Schools)
