ORGANIZATION: Idealist.org

Recruiting Organization: Best Buddies International Inc.

The Best Buddies Friendship Walk: Sacramento, held in the spring of each year is the leading walk in the country supporting the inclusion of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each year, our Friendship Walk brings together nearly 1000 community members to celebrate the opportunity for inclusion in our schools, workplaces, and communities. Walkers from around the Sacramento area and across all stages of life including students, family members, community members, and corporate volunteers will come together to raise vital funds for Best Buddies' inclusive programs.

Do you love talking to people or are you more of a behind-the-scenes spreadsheet person? Do you love to get stuff done and make a massive difference? We are looking for volunteers to join our Event Committee and participate in the planning for this life-changing event. Opportunities for sub-committees include team recruitment or retention, sponsorship, logistics, and publicity. We believe there is something for anyone and everyone can make an impact.

Time commitment: Friendship Walk planning season runs from October through April and includes one to two 60-minute meetings per month, with individual work in between. Event day staffing is expected and is a six-hour day.
