Recruiting Organization: Hack.Diversity
Hack.Diversity is tackling the underrepresentation of high-skilled minority employees in Boston’s innovation economy. We recruit high-achieving Black and Latinx students from often-underrepresented talent sources, and support the launch of their careers in tech through the city’s fastest growing companies. Uniquely, Hack.Diversity provides training, coaching, and mentoring for employers and employees alike - recognizing that success hinges on effort from both.
Hack.Diversity Mentors play a crucial role in guiding Fellows to establish long-term, growth-oriented careers in the tech and innovation economy. You might be a great fit for our Mentor Network if you are:
[*Required*]
- Able to commit ~5-10 hours/month between Jan - Aug 2022, to work with 1 Mentee and help support other Hack.Diversity events/initiatives as needed (primarily remotely and in the Greater Boston area as interested)
- Willing to stay updated on Hack.Diversity programming + processes, and to coach along Hack organizationally established guidelines
- Reliable with communication (our primary platforms are Slack + email) and Eastern Standard Time availability
- Interested in and/or connected personally to the tech and/or innovation industries
- Self-motivated and resourceful, in finding answers and appropriate sources for support (for yourself + your Mentee)
- Committed to the Hack mission and passionate about diversifying the tech and innovation industries
- Bringing at least 3 years of professional experience, broadly defined
[*Preferred*]
- Professional (mid-career) experience and/or knowledge in the tech and/or innovation industries

Does the above sound like you? If so, join the movement to #hackdiversity - and apply to join us!
For priority matching, please apply ASAP by Jan. 10 - but applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled.
Please note: While Boston ties and experience in the tech industry and/or tech roles are helpful, know that our Mentor network has many people who are not located in Boston, are not technical, and have never worked in tech. Their passion and commitment to our mission still makes them great Mentors. Time commitment is estimated to be ~5-10 hours/month, from Jan. - Aug. 2022, but is flexible as determined by your 1:1 relationship with matched mentee.
