Recruiting Organization: Indigo International

Pleiadian Institute is a school operated by Indigo International to train professionals in the field of holistic health. We are recruiting a Research Support Team for our Rachel K. Cardoza Research Library of who can bring a variety of talents, experiences and expertise to help advance our mission of sharing evidence-based holistic health research with the world!

As part of our Research Support Team, you will help to provide organizational support through taking an active role in administrative work and management of a private non-profit holistic health school library collection. You will also provide support of library services to students, patrons and community organizations.

RESEARCH SUPPORT TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in weekly meetings, prepare reports with and for library volunteers.
  • Work in the development of research programs.
  • Complete regular training in technical and administrative library skills.
  • Work in the development and maintenance of a digital research collection of articles, books, periodicals and a variety of other library materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A passion for and experience in the principles and practices of libraries.
  • Committed to excellence.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to organize work for efficient use of time.
  • Ability to understand and interpret library policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Ability to keep records accurately.
  • Ability to plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate the work of volunteers in library activities.
  • Ability to initiate, organize, and follow through on programs, services, and projects.

*Note: The hours for this position are flexible. You work on your projects on your own time. This position includes 2 monthly 30 minute meetings, one is required and scheduled with a leader on your team and one is optional and is at a static time each month for the entire organization. We are very flexible and work with our volunteer's schedules. Volunteers can take up to 8 weeks during a 6 month period off for any reason, with no loss of position or benefits. You can work weekdays or weekends, day or night.

We are currently recruiting Research Support Team members who can serve one year and commit to 10 hours a month of service. This is a volunteer position.
