Recruiting Organization: STEM Montessori Academy of Canada

Are you an individual interested in gaining some experience as a librarian and looking for volunteer hours in an innovative environment? We are actively seeking a Volunteer Librarian Assistant who can assist us with managing the on-campus library. Time Commitment is 2-4 hours weekly.

STEM Montessori Academy of Canada (SMAC) is a regional STEM program open to all students with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application.

The STEM program l educates students from preschool to high school.

SMAC specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.

Please note the vulnerable sector police clearance check is not required if volunteering outside of school hours and/or on weekends. School hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Labeling books, magazines, and other library inventory,

Classify reading materials in appropriate aisles and by alphabetical order,

Creating and managing a computer indexing system,

Organizing and maintaining books while reporting any damaged books discovered,

Order new books with authorizations,

Understanding the STEM-based programs offered by SMAC.


Must have a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Check,

Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19,

Masks are required,

Minimum 1+ year of relevant experience considered an asset,

Ability to handle routine and repetitive work efficiently,

Excellent at following directions while working independently as well as in a team,

Outstanding interpersonal skills,

Possess an outgoing, friendly, and warm personality,

Display enthusiasm and creativity while eager to continuously learn new skills,
