Recruiting Organization: Advoz: Mediation & Restorative Practices
Our mission here at Advoz is to transform conflict and build community through face-to-face dialogue programs. This is made possible by our many generous volunteers.
Making Peace facilitator uses an interactive curriculum focused on building self-awareness and skill-building for youth and their parent/ guardians in communication, leadership and conflict resolution. Youth and parents learn skills in their respective sessions, then meet face-to-face to express their commitment to support each other in the skills. The Making Peace Workshop is held one Saturday each month from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
Facilitators experience the reward of convening an exciting learning exchange among youth, among parents and between youth and their own parent(s)/guardian(s).
Volunteers are required to apply online, take a basic training in Conflict, Communication & Culture, submit two background checks, and observe a Making Peace Workshop session before co-facilitating either the youth or parent session. See also: https://advoz.org/volunteer/
