About

Our Marketing Team will be responsible for promoting events, maintaining our social media pages, creating visuals for social media posts and other teams, etc.

Position Description: Graphic Designer

The responsibilities of a Graphic Designer on our Marketing Team will include:

• Creating and experimenting with different design apps and software to produce a variety of materials (e.g., Instagram posts, newsletter templates)
• Participating in the eventual creation of VTAL’s blog and Podcast
• Researching important topics to spread awareness on
• Creating and upholding a posting schedule for social media
• Completing tasks that are assigned by the Director of Graphic Design by the deadline
• Participating in VTAL meetings (likely monthly) and Marketing Team meetings (hosted by the Marketing Team Director)

Requirements:

• Familiarity and proficiency with Canva
• Previous graphic design experience
• It is highly recommended to have previous experience
• Previous experience can include volunteering with another organization as a graphic designer or designing graphics using platforms such as procreate
• Ability to learn to quickly use new software
• Able to give and receive constructive feedback
• High school student, post-secondary student, or youth
• Proficient English-speaking skills

General Information:

• By applying, you are committing yourself to at least 6 months in this position, if you are chosen
• Applicants successful at the first stage (the google forms application) will be contacted for a short interview through zoom
• Time commitment is: estimated 2-3 hours a week
