Recruiting Organization: Minds Matter Los Angeles

Minds Matter connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world.

Do you like reading essays and seeing your direct impact from draft to draft? Do you enjoy helping students find their voice and learn how to best present themselves through the written word? If so, join us as a writing coach! Your focus is on helping students draft personal statements and other essays for their summer program applications which are great practice for college applications. You will also help with writing assignments throughout the year. You will be paired with 3 to 4 students.

Time commitment: This role will work independently from regular Saturday sessions. It'll likely be a few hours/week and entail proofreading and offering constructive coaching for students' writing deliverables.
