Recruiting Organization: Beyond South America
Are you curious, adventurous and looking for a nice internship or meaningful volunteer position? Beyond South America - a small scale mediation agency in internships and volunteer positions - helps, connects and supports.
The project
The project is in a small village about 3 to 4 hours from Cochabamba. In the park there’s a number of different animals like monkeys, reptiles, a few feline species, different bird species and a bear. All animals have been traded (illegally) or have been kept as domestic animals. The animals all have different backgrounds, but they have all lost their freedom due to humans. In the park the animals are given a second chance, while many animals can’t be released into the wild anymore. The park provides the animals with shelter and they try to imitate the natural habitat as good as possible by keeping them in a 'semi-free’ environment. They’re living in a natural park with no gates, but still dependent on people.
Sadly it’s not possible for all animals to live 'semi-free’. Because of this volunteers are needed to help feed and take care of the animals. As a volunteer you can help with cleaning, preparing food, and you can think of games to keep the animals mentally occupied. There are also animals that need walking daily and possibly there will be repair works for the animal’s living areas. What your day will look like exactly, is dependent on the work that needs to be done at that time.
It’s hard work with long days, but it’s also really rewarding. In this project you can make a true difference for these animals.
After the first week you will have one day off, after that you will have one full day off every week.
